"Leicester Council of Faiths is an integral part of our communities bringing different faith groups together.

Only by working together can we be tolerant and have mutual respect, which is what Leicester Council of Faiths promotes. It is an honour and a privilege to be working with it on a number of issues that help our City flourish and take pride in our diversity.”

“It is more important than ever that we reach out inclusively and engage with all of our many diverse communities across Leicester.

Faith has had an important role to play in that, not least because of unique position of many religious leaders at their heart of their local communities. We are delighted to work with the Leicester Council of Faiths in helping us supplement and enhance our own community outreach activity.”

Member of Parliament for Leicester East

“As the Member of Parliament for Leicester East, I wholeheartedly thank Leicester Council of Faiths for the excellent work they do within our community.

I am incredibly proud of the multiculturalism and diversity of my home city. Leicester is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse places in the UK, and each of our interlinked communities contribute significantly to our collective religious, cultural and political life.

But I do not take tolerance for granted. The right for different communities and cultures to live side by side has been fought for by generations of struggle. Since it was established in 1986, Leicester Council of Faiths has been a key aspect of this struggle.

As a city, our diversity is our strength. Leicester Council of Faiths play a crucial role in promoting trust, understanding and co-operation among faith communities in Leicester. They are a vital organisation in our shared mission to uphold equality and celebrate diversity.

Leicester Council of Faiths provide a unique and enduring contribution to our community. I will always be more than happy to support their excellent work.
