Formed in 1986, Leicester Council of Faiths has become widely recognised as a key player in establishing, maintaining and promoting Leicester’s reputation as a place where people of different religions and beliefs co exist peacefully.
Our current membership includes representatives of the city’s Bahá i Buddhist, Chri stian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan and Sikh communities. We work alongside other groups and organisations that encourage tolerance, mutual respect, community cohesion and a world embracing vision.
We are currently recruiting for:
Faith Communities Engagement Officer (2 posts)
On a sessional basis, fixed term contract for 12 months, hourly rate £16.00 to a maximum of 84 hours per post spread over the 12-month contract period.
The Leicester Council of Faiths has secured funding from Macmillan Cancer Support to engage with Leicester and Leicestershire’s faith communities, to explore the issues around cancer and faith. We are looking for two experienced community engagement officers, to work with us on delivering this exciting project.
You will be supporting our manager to deliver as series of listening events and engagement activities with faith communities, develop a Faith and Cancer Network, work with a professional film maker to document personal stories around cancer and faith issues, and create content about the project for our website and social media channels.
